Spring and swinging

One of the greatest milestones for my kids to learn is "pumping." I'm not going to lie I really dread pushing my kids on the swings. Not sure why, but I just dread it. Well Gavin mastered it and it is definitely a happy day.

St.Patty's Day

Super fun having St. Patrick's day on Saturday. Fun shamrock hair, leprechaun traps and treats, green lunch and to top it off a date with my hubby while the Granparents played with the kiddos.

Money from egg hunts past..

Every year my parents do a money Easter egg hunt and every year there is money that isn't found, despite my parents best efforts to remember where all the eggs are. Well, with the super nice weather and all, Gavin was golfing out back and comes running in telling us he found $10 from an egg. It was so funny too, because he said: "my heart is beating so hard right now, I ALREADY have six bucks!!!" too cute.

Purple Belt!

Gavin is officially a purple belt in karate today! He will be moving from Junior beginning basic training to intermediate basic training, we are very proud of him! Good work Gavin!

Gavin on tithing..

We have had our ups and downs with Gavin and paying his tithing. In fact, two years ago he refused and we told him he would need to tell the Bishop that when we went into tithing settlement. He straight up told him he wouldn't. Since then we have tried to get him to every time he gets money. Sometimes it is easier than others. Today he received birthday money from Grandpa Great and I was helping him separate out his tithing. Our conversation went something like this:
Gavin: Mom I pay my tithing, then I don't, then I pay it then I don't..
Mom: you should pay it all the time
Gavin: no mom, that's a pattern!! I do, I don't, I do...
Can you tell he's in kindergarten? Patterns.. makes sense to him.

Pillow project

Does anyone else out there think the price of decorative pillows out there is ridiculous??? Seriously..$79..really? Well I bought $30 in fabric enough to make 10 pillow covers! sweet! So far I've whipped out 3. The are E-Z! Not even 10 minutes of time!

Table Redo

We have had these side tables for over ten years, I never really loved them, but they are solid and we got them wholesale, so I've always just made use of them. Recently I haven't used them, except to hold my printer, or for the humidifier in the baby's room when needed. I almost got rid of them, until I decided to redo them! I'm slowly redecorating my family room and painting this gray added a great touch!

I was a little nervous painting furniture..but I've been following Centsational Girl for a while and she is so amazing.  All of her projects inspire me to go for it, so I finally did, and here is her tutorial I followed.
