Manila Halloween Parade

I ended up having to go to two parades today, since the kindergarteners are separate from the rest of the school, Gavin's was first, he is at the top with his two best buds, Cayson and Trevor.  Brooklyn was later with the rest of the school, she was a cute dragon girl ninja.
The best costume in my opinion was the teacher who was a construction worker, like the ones we have had to deal with the last few weeks and it is true they do NOT know how to direct traffic it is a joke.  All in all fun to see how excited the kids were in their costumes!

Brooklyn's Baptism

It was a great day with lots of family! We had the Cottle side Aunts and Uncles sing with Uncle Tyson playing the guitar, they sounded amazing.  I'm so grateful for such a wonderful family to share this day with Brooklyn, she couldn't have been happier.

Chocoholic..

This is what happens when you decide to a sleep 15 more min and ask the kids to watch the baby.. that is a 1 lb block of chocolate bark..see the teeth marks :)

Crazy Hair Day!!!

During red ribbon week, Brooklyn's school had a crazy hair day, we put wire in her pony and then sprayed it red with glitter, she thought it was pretty CRAZY!  After Gavin saw this, he decided against any crazy hairdo, he is definitely my more conservative child.  Love this girl!

My little guy has the Halloween spirit, he just came into the laundry room and yelled "boo!" at me, then pointed to the dark bathroom and said "kee-kee" which is "spooky" his new favorite word, this is his face talking about it...

the toothbrush thief..

 We have a toothbrush thief..every time the kids went to brush their teeth their toothbrushes were missing?  Well, we solved the mystery!  Noah would run in there and reach his little hand in the drawer and snatch them up!  Now we keep them up higher, especially since he figured out he could climb on the counter from the toilet.  He's a little monkey!!

Our New Driver

This kid keeps me on my toes!  One of the kids left the door open and Noah snuck in the garage, crawled in the car and was ready to drive, he actually turned on the car!  Luckily you have to use the brake to put it in drive or we could have been in trouble.. Brooklyn screams every time he hops in the driver's seat, because it scared her so bad when he turned on the car.

Learning from our children

  

It is so true that our kids teach us more than we teach them.  Recently I was talking to Brooklyn about school and she was telling me something she did, I was thinking it was a little strange and asked her if she thought other classmates would do the same thing?  She replied no and I proceeded to tell her than maybe she shouldn’t do it because the other kids might thing it was weird.  She told me very matter-of-factly “Mom, I’m different and that is okay, because if we were all the same that would be so BORING!” *jaw drop*  Lesson learned, it is okay  not to be like the status quo.  While I know this I don’t know that I have an easy time not “blending” with everyone.  Brooklyn is not typical, she is AMAZING and I love that she loves who she is, even it isn’t like everyone else.
