Brooklyn's Spring Concert 2008

I've tried to upload Brooklyn's Dance Recital, but have not been successful, so here are some pics from before and after her performance. She did really great this year, she had all three dances memorized, and she definitely loves been on stage, so she had a blast. We are so proud of you Brooklyn you did so great, we love you!

The day before the concert, Brooklyn asked if I would put sponge rollers in her hair, because her friend at school had worn some to school. I said I would, not even realizing that her concert was the next day, which ended up working so perfect. Although at first, her head was just one big fuzz ball. She looked in the mirror and started to cry. I was laughing cause it was kind of funny, and told her I'd fix it, which I did and it looked adorable. Then we took her to Aunt Lexi to do her make-up. She did it with the same color of pink as her leotard, and did sparkles as well, which Brooklyn thought was so great. I didn't get any pics of the concert, because I was videotaping, so when her professional ones come in, I'll post them, because they show her darling costumes.

Cottle's Ranch

Our tradition has been to go to Cottle's Ranch(my Grandparents Ranch) in Idaho on Memorial weekend. It is always a lot of fun. This year it rained off and on, but we were still able to fit in a bunch of stuff. Lots of 4-wheeling, shooting the guns, biking, chillaxin', and more.

On Saturday, Spencer and I decided to hop on our road bikes, since there is literally no traffic, which is great for road bikers. We headed on the highway into town, and the closer we got to town the more it rained, by the time we got to town (3miles) it was a downpour. We decided to head back the way we came and it started hailing on us! It was killing my face, finally we reached the ranch and it had calmed down a bit. Spencer convinced me to go climb this hill were there were blue skies. I agreed and it was nice and sunny, it was a long climb, took me about 30 min. but I enjoyed it cause I was warm. Crazy enough we passed another cyclist going down as we climbed! It was fun and we enjoyed the long downhill afterwards.

Saturday night we went to the only restaurant called "Cattle Country" We made reservations, since there were a lot of us. We got an entire room to ourselves it was pretty great!

Sunday, we went and decorated the graves in Malta. My cousin Janica, and Great-Grandparents are buried there. Afterwards, we took a drive through the City of Rocks. We did a little hiking but not a lot, since the weather was changing constantly from warm, to rain.

Overall a great weekend!

ANTS!!!

In 8 1/2 years of marriages, living in four different homes, I have never experienced ants! Yesterday morning after Gavin was finished eating his cereal, I went to clean up underneath the bar, where he usually drops a lot of his food, only to find his Honeycombs COVERED in ants! Can I say gross!! At first I tried to sweep them up into a dustpan, not exactly effective. So, I got my vacuum and began sucking every last one up. The rest of the day I didn't really notice any, but this morning, more appeared! Gavin wouldn't get down from the stool, because he said "the ants eat me!" He thinks any speck of dirt is an ant now. The pictures are of the kids stomping the ants.

Our Pre-K Graduate!

It seems like only yesterday we were bringing Brooklyn home the hospital. Now she has graduated from Pre-K and will be starting Kindergarten! Time sure does fly by. I'm so proud of Brooklyn this past year, she has come a long way, graduating from Speech Therapy in December, and learning the alphabet and numbers, as well as in Dance, she has done a great job this year. I am so happy to have such a fun, energetic, little girl, who keeps me hopping, but is also a sweetheart. The other day she told me "I think I love you Mom" it was so sweet! Congratulations Brooklyn! We love you so much and are very proud of all your accomplishments this year!

we got there I was kinda in a bad mood, when I say the box in the hole,
I said "Oh know! I think we ruined someone's surprise!" Then I course

told him its not fair he has better legs than me.

Intermountain Cup Mountain Bike Race

Saturday, Spencer did his first mountain bike race. He has wanted to start racing the last couple of years, but never found the time, between starting his company and building our house last year, but this year is HIS year. Or so he says. So this race was out at 5-mile pass, and apparently is a pretty tough course. Spencer has biked the trail before, and had a pretty bad crash. Even the manager from the Revolution bike shop said: "It's a bad luck course." Anyway during his training this past week, he was really unhappy with his performance, and even considered not doing the race. He did decide to do it, but I was really nervous for him. He raced in the Beginner class ages 30-39, and there were probably around 20-30 men. We went with the Larson Fam, because their two oldest boys Cameron and Connor were racing, as well as Greg. We cheered on our hubbies, and then waited....awhile. One lap is 11 miles long and takes about an hour to complete. Spencer only had to do one lap, since he was in the Beginner class. Greg had to do two laps since he races in the Sport class. Finally at about 57 min. I saw Spencer coming to the finish, I was so excited that he made it! AND, that he wasn't walking his bike, because there were a few of those :( After he crossed the finish and got the stats he came and told me he got 4th Place! I was so excited and proud of him,pretty good for his first race! Way to go Spence!!!
