Gavin started Preschool!

Due to the woes of the first (and half the second) trimester of pregnancy I have fallen behind, but I am going to try to start catching up the best I can
Gavin started preschool after Labor Day and after much prodding and reassurance really loves it. Sometimes he doesn't want me to leave him and there have been a couple crying episodes as I have left, but I am always greeted by a very happy boy when I pick him up. It is so cute when he comes home and tells me "I gotta do my homework Mom!" He has homework everyday but it isn't mandatory, but he loves doing it. It is hard to believe both my kids are in school. It is weird to have free time even if it is only an hour or two. Gavin also has a bunch of friends in his class including lots of girls: Ava, Addie, Kaya, Kambree, Ellie, and Saunder.

Saying Gavin is not a morning person is an understatement

If ever I need to get somewhere before 11a.m. it is bound to be a fight with Gavin. Sometimes I feel like I'm dealing with a teenager. He covers his head with his pillow and cries "I'm still tired!" Or he completely ignores me and is like a comatose patient, never opening his eyes or reacting whatsoever. It has started to be a real pain. I thought that once Brooklyn started A track and was going to school at 8 a.m.(therefore going to bed earlier), Gavin would follow suit..not so much, actually not at all! For instance this morning I have a 10 a.m. meeting, so instead of dragging him out of bed 15 minutes before I have to leave I thought I'd start an hour and a half early giving me ample time to get him up. I opened the shutters to let in the light and he started yelling "turn off the lights!" I told him it was "morning-time." He said he just wanted me to turn off the lights and let him sleep. I asked him if I shut the shutters would he get up, and he said no. Then I offered to turn cartoons on for him if he would get up. He told me, "if you shut the windows, then I'll let you turn on cartoons for me..." He is such the little bargainer. I guess until I get really strict and make him go to bed earlier, this is going to be a continuous battle, so until then....

you know you're pregnant when...

1. you can't brush your teeth without gagging at least twice...
2. when zofran replaces chocolate as your favorite thing to eat.
3. you have to grocery shop daily because you never know what is going be ok to eat.
4. Chase bank commercials make you sob..
5. you are actually sore from sitting on the couch for soooooo looooong..ugh!
6. your fridge and pantry are replaced with a LOT of junk food, because now your husband does the shopping.
7. you no longer keep track of the month and day, because your life now is based on how many weeks pregnant you are and nothing else.
8. you wish you had "morning sickness" because what you have is called ALL-DAY SICKNESS!!!
9. you can smell what your husband ate for lunch as soon as he walks through the door, even though he's 20 feet away.
10. You actually text your hubby to tell him you made dinner for once, so he doesn't pick-up take-out on his way home from work.
11. Your kids only choices for meals are cold cereal, toaster waffles, and/or anything they can find and make on their own....sigh.

9/11

I love that our neighborhood puts up flags on EVERYONE's yard and that they filled our Stake Center with flags today! What a nice memorial to all those we are honoring today.
