Day 6: Tulum

On our last stop we went to Cozumel, Mexico. However, we took a taxi to the ferry, then a 40 minute ferry ride to Playa del Carmen, and finally an hour ride on the "minibus" to the Mayan city of Tulum.
I didn't know if my stomach could hold out with the awful ferry ride and nausea. Thankfully it got better and I was able to feel better just in time to get eaten alive by mosquitoes! It was so incredibly crazy! There were so Mexicans trying to sell us bug spray as we walked in and I was like no way...how bad can it be? Come on we are by the beach, oh my gosh it was soooo bad, I had a second calf on my same leg by the time we left.
Our tour guide's name was Helaman and he related a lot of Mayan history to the Book of Mormon as we took our drive to the city it was very interesting to listen to how things relate to one another.

After Tulum, the other families in our tour group wanted to stop at this fresh water hole, that has caves, so Spencer and Ryan snorkeled while Whitney and I watched. We didn't want to swim because one it was freezing and two there were little fish swimming everywhere and it was a little freaky! I've snorkeled before, but in warm non-cave waters :)

Day 5: Cave Tubing in Belize

I think Belize was my favorite port. We had an awesome guide for our cave tubing. He was so knowledgeable and told us all kinds of interesting tidbits about nature and such as we hiked to the to the top of the river. It was a lot of fun.

Day 4: Roatan, Honduras

On day 4 of our cruise we went to Roatan, Honduras. It is a really small island of the coast of Honduras. I'd never even heard of it before until we went. It was raining pretty good that day, so we decided to hire a Spanish guy to drive us around the entire island and show us the sites.
Here is an LDS church, I would say it is probably close to one of the nicest properties on the whole island. It is completely fenced in and well taken care of.
We went to a little animal park they had. The monkeys were super friendly and smart! They were going after all the ladies purses seeing what they could steal! Here is Ryan feeding him an apple. The monkeys were just jumping from person to person, I pretty much freaked out and got out of the cage before they tried to get near me. I'm not exactly an animal lover.
This is as brave as I get feeding seeds to some parrots, and seriously I was scared, about 30 seconds after this picture I got spooked and jumped and landed in a huge mud hole!
They have deer on the island but this is what their horns look like full grown, crazy!

Days 1, 2, & 3 of Caribbean Cruise

Spencer and I have now been married for 10 years! Crazy how fast time flies by. We decided to take a Caribbean cruise, eight days, no kids, and lots of fun and relaxation. Perfect timing considering I was 4 1/2 months pregnant, so pretty much past the yucky stage and not to the too big to move stage. Funny thing was we booked our trip before I knew I was expecting a baby so we are lucky it worked out so well.This picture was taken just as we boarded the boat in Miami. I was feeling pretty haggard after a red-eye(can we say HATE!!) and then sitting at the port for like 4 hours waiting to board and SLEEP!
Gotta love all the towel animals! First night a seal, the man that cleaned our Cabin was awesome, his name was Sergio and he was from Honduras. He was such a hard worker and he had a family that he only saw maybe every few months, so sad. We are sending him a Spanish Book of Mormon and some church videos.

In Grand Cayman we just shopped and went to a beach. While we were at the beach there was a torrential downpour! Luckily it was warm and not that big of deal, we still ran for cover however.

I am watching the 10'o'clock news with Gavin, and the weatherman says something about a snowstorm...
Gavin: a snowstorm! (eyebrows raised and completely shocked)...that's interesting, its going to be Christmas! That's creepy!

Apparently he doesn't quite grasp the meaning of creepy, just had to right this down for posterity :)
