Belt Promotion.. My Purple Stripe Little Ninja!

 Gavin has been in karate nearly a year now and he really enjoys it.  He is just in the Little Ninja class, so they aren't earning solid color belts yet, they do stripe belt, Gavin is pretty convinced he's going to be a 10th degree Black Belt soon! Ha, love that kid.

Silhouettes..finally done!

These by far are one of my favorite crafts I've done thus far, it only took me 6 months start to finish(not because it takes that long, but because I procrastinated each step!) We added a board and batten wall in our kitchen, then I decided I wanted to new paint, then new decor...you get the idea, here's part of the new wall , with my kiddos cute silhouettes!

8 really is GREAT!

 It is really hard to believe that eight years ago today at 2 a.m. I went into labor, and 19hrs and many tears later finally got to hold my precious baby girl.  Brooklyn is one spunky kid and totally different than I ever imagined, but absolutely amazing.  She has so many qualities I admire.. qualities I wish I had.  A few things about Brooklyn:
*She has an amazing mind that is so creative* Very expressive, great at acting*Amazing voice, perfect pitch*Perfectionist*Super friendly, she will be friends with absolutely anyone*Loves to shoot hoops with Dad, play soccer, volleyball and ride her bike*Loves movies & cartoons*Loves to play the Wii and is really good at it*Loves being the oldest and teaching the younger ones what she already has learned*Is SO excited to be baptized!
Brooklyn is such a sweetie and I am so glad we have her in our family!

Day 1: Shoe cupboard

Day 1 and I did it! It feels good already, I'm so excited to make it through day 40. This was a small task, but yet alluded me this whole summer, it's amazing what committing yourself does!

I gave away an entire box of shoes and threw away quite a few of the kids shoes that were hammered. Now for me to organize my closet full of shoes...baby steps. :)

Getting rid of my clutter!

So I saw this wonderful idea on Sugar Tot Designs.  It was a way of getting rid of your clutter and organizing in a matter of 40 days.  It was titled "40 bags in 40 days."  Basically you tackle an area of your house everyday and try to get rid of a bag of unused, unneeded or unwanted stuff.  Exactly what I needed, however I knew I needed an accountability factor, so for the next 40 days I am going to blog each area I tackle, hopefully I can get it done!!
